Earlier, Exxon Mobil announced that they have once again broken the yearly profit record raking in over $45 billion in profit. That’s quite a bit of pocket change they’re making all the while we’re in a devastating recession. Indeed, far be it from me to criticize corporate leaders for making money in their respective organizations, that is after all what they are paid to do.
It does however, give me pause to think that while over here we have corporations setting record profits with CEO’s seeing huge bonuses no doubt. Yet, on the other side massive layoffs are being seen throughout the economy. Perhaps we should all get into the oil business?
